Privacy policy
Last updated: November 2026
This policy explains what we collect and why, in line with the Philippine Data Privacy Act of 2012 (RA 10173). Questions: hello@example.com.
What we collect
- When you vote: your IP address, a random device identifier stored in a secure cookie, your account ID if signed in, the time, and an approximate location (province/region) estimated from your network by our CDN. We use these only to enforce fair voting limits, detect abuse and produce aggregated statistics.
- Accounts: email address, display name, username, password (stored only as an Argon2id hash) or Google sign-in identifier, and optional profile details.
- Comments: the content you post and moderation history.
- Analytics (with consent): Google Analytics 4 page and event statistics. We never send your email, name, IP address or votes linked to you to Google.
- Advertising: Google AdSense may use cookies to show ads. If you decline advertising cookies, ads are non-personalised.
How long we keep it
- Raw IP addresses are kept encrypted for at most 14 days, then deleted. After that we keep only a one-way keyed hash and a masked form (e.g. 203.177.x.x) for abuse history.
- Vote-attempt logs are deleted after 60 days. Aggregated statistics are kept indefinitely and contain no personal data.
- Account data is kept until you delete your account.
What we never do
- We never sell your data.
- We never show IP addresses or exact locations publicly; the vote map only shows province-level estimates and hides areas with few votes.
- We never ask for payment information.
Your rights
You can view and edit your profile, download your comment history, and delete your account at any time from your account page. You may also contact us to access, correct or erase your data, or to object to processing. You can lodge a complaint with the National Privacy Commission.
Cookies
Essential cookies (sign-in session, security, vote-limit device cookie) are always on. Analytics and advertising cookies load only after you choose to allow them. Change your choice any time with “Cookie settings” in the footer.
